# Coverage

> Jurisdictions, their codes and how current the data is.

The `jurisdiction` parameter takes a Census code for a state or county. Only the codes below are accepted.

| State | Code | Counties and cities | Records | Data as of |
| - | - | - | -: | - |
| Washington, D.C. | `11` | District of Columbia `11001` | 8.35M | 2026-10-08 |
| Maryland | `24` | Allegany `24001`, Anne Arundel `24003`, Baltimore County `24005`, Calvert `24009`, Caroline `24011`, Carroll `24013`, Cecil `24015`, Charles `24017`, Dorchester `24019`, Frederick `24021`, Garrett `24023`, Harford `24025`, Howard `24027`, Kent `24029`, Montgomery `24031`, Prince George's `24033`, Queen Anne's `24035`, St. Mary's `24037`, Somerset `24039`, Talbot `24041`, Washington `24043`, Wicomico `24045`, Worcester `24047`, Baltimore City `24510` | 43.38M | 2026-10-05 |
| Virginia | `51` | Arlington `51013`, Fairfax County `51059`, Loudoun `51107`, Alexandria `51510`, City of Fairfax `51600`, Falls Church `51610` | 35.93M | 2026-10-12 |

A state code covers every county in it. On `find`, a state code is faster than a county code.

## Sources and fields

Data comes from county and state publishers: tax offices, assessors, recorders, permit and licensing agencies. [`catalog`](/api-reference/lookups/list-sources) lists every published source with its record kind and count. Narrow it with `jurisdiction` or `source_id` to see each source's fields, their types, how often they are filled and an example value.

```bash theme={null}
curl -G "https://portal.quoindata.com/api/v4/catalog" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $QUOIN_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode "source_id=itspe_current"
```

Use those field names in [search filters](/guides/search).

<Note>
  `catalog.as_of` is when the catalog was generated, not when the source was pulled. Use the dates in the table above. `records` counts every published version of every record.
